Vimalakīrti Sūtra Chapter Five – Inquiring about the Illness

An ongoing exploration of this important and popular sutra. After Shakyamuni Buddha’s disciples and most bodhisattvas all find reasons for not going to visit the deathly ill Vimalakīrti he asks Mañjuśrī Bodhisattva, who agrees to go. We discuss one chapter every several months. There are various translations, several of which are available on the internet.
